There is a goddess within every woman. What goddess are you?
The ancient myths come to life in the Goddess Course taught by Kathryn Costa. In this course you’ll meet seven feminine archetypes depicted in the Greek mythology: Aphrodite the lover, Hera the wife, Demeter the mother, Persephone the daughter and Goddess of the Underworld, Artemis the sister, Athena the strategist, and Hestia the wise woman and hearth keeper.
You’ll recognize qualities of these feminine archetypes in yourself and the women in your life and you’ll be inspired to call upon their strengths within you to best serve your aspirations and your relationships.
Aphrodite teaches us to savor the simple pleasures in life.
Artemis takes us into the wilderness and gives us permission to dance to the beat of our own drum.
Athena will help you to focus and think strategically.
Hera expects the best, a lesson we can all use!
Persephone guides us through our shadow times and gives us hope.
Hestia‘s mindful approach to tending her home will have you looking at housework differently!
Demeter loves to feed her children and grandchildren. She’ll inspire you to bake some bread, cake, or cookies.
Then there’s the goddess in you!
Here’s a little secret, you’ll discover that the goddess in you is a unique combination of each of these Olympic Greek Goddesses.
We’ve only just skimmed the surface here as these goddesses have many more qualities. Ooohhh there’s so much more to discover.
Now how fun is that?
When you sign up for the Goddess Course, you get these beautiful envelopes in the mail when each lesson is published. Tucked inside you’ll find a Goddess Profile that includes a snapshot of the goddess’ strengths, colors, symbols, gemstones, plants, and animals. These characteristics will inspire you to bring in one or more of these elements into your own goddess art.
Each goddess online retreat includes:
- Highlights of the mythic story told in a fun and relatable way.
- Overview of their strengths and wounds.
- Affirmations to invoke the goddess’ strength in you.
- Stories of how these goddess archetypes show up in us today. The myths live on!
- Featured animal ally that has wisdom akin to the goddess.
- Soul Journey guided meditation to tap into your inner wisdom.
- Oracle card tucked in the envelope with time for a reading.
Create your own goddess inspired art.
The goddess online retreat includes an hour of “studio time” where you can begin working on a goddess inspired project.
Here are some ideas of projects you may be inspired to create in this course.
- Visual Journal with collage elements.
- Mandala Art
- SoulCollage® cards
- Fiber Arts – knitting, quilting
- Talisman made of clay or painted rocks
- Spirit Sticks
- Affirmation Cards
Not feeling very creative? You’ll receive handouts with activities that you can use during the studio time. For example in the Athena Retreat you get her compass, shield, and wing. In the Hestia Retreat you’ll get a labyrinth to “walk” as you adding color, patterns, and journal writing.
Perhaps you and your muse have another idea?
We’ll want to see it!

Hestia Goddess Retreat
We begin the Goddess Course with Artemis, queen of the hunt and moon.
Like Artemis and Athena, Hestia is very independent. Where she differs from her sisters is that her focus is directed inwards. Known as the hearth tender and keeper of the temple flame, we learn from Hestia how to nurture our creative fire.
We’ll explore practices for going inward to achieve expansiveness and how slowing down creates space for creative flow.
Feeling blocked creatively? Feeling frazzled? Hestia will guide you in finding your center and accessing your inner wisdom.

When I first learned about the Greek Goddess archetypes nine years ago, it opened up a whole new world to me. I learned a lot about myself, both my strengths and my weaknesses. I also have a new perspective on the women in my life. So much so, that I now have a better understanding and appreciation for their aspirations, motivations, and quirks that are often different from mine. My biggest takeaway is the realization that we have within us the power of all the goddesses and we can call on these qualities to navigate the joys and challenges of life. I can’t wait to meet the goddesses within you!Kathryn Costa
