Did you know that I’m a certified astrologer? I love observing patterns, and astrology serves up an endless supply of events and planetary transits to hold my curiosity. My intention with these ‘Traveling by Moonlight’ blog posts is to share tidbits along with tangible ways to observe how these energies are showing up for you.

Now that we’ve settled in, let’s take a look at what’s happening in today’s sky (March 29, 2025). In the sign of Aries at 9 degrees, we have a New Moon, a Partial Solar Eclipse, and the North Node.

Aries is a fire sign known for its fierce independence, self-reliance, and go-getter spirit. Aries loves starting new projects, new ventures, new adventures—and when an idea strikes, watch out world! There is no stopping Aries.

New moons are often a time to start something fresh, and Aries is all about that. But watch out for being a bit too quick to act.

The partial solar eclipse shifts energy and events in your life, often in abrupt and unexpected ways.

Adding to all of this is the North Node (NN), which represents your life’s path, the direction of your potential, and the lessons you are meant to learn in this lifetime.

As we piece together the qualities of each of these, we might find ourselves with a rush of energy and enthusiasm about something we’ve been thinking about. If there has been any hesitation—especially if you don’t have Aries in your chart—the eclipse energy can be like a kick-starter. As you consider what’s next for you, tune into what you feel naturally drawn to, what energizes you, and what is uniquely yours.

Watch out for getting drawn into someone else’s dream or creative expression and trying to make it your own. Inspiration is everywhere. How will you find your own unique expression?

Today’s featured mandala captures the spirit of Aries with the image of the Fool from a Prophecy wine label. In the Tarot, the Fool is the first card in the Major Arcana and, like Aries, symbolizes the start of a journey. In this image, the Fool walks along a sunlit path, embodying the hopeful excitement that comes with new beginnings. In the distance, dark mountains represent the challenges ahead. Yet, when we follow our true path, we gain the clarity, confidence, and energy needed to overcome obstacles and climb even the steepest mountains.

At each ‘gate’ of this mandala are words to invite you to start your own heroine’s journey of self-discovery, courage, self-worth, and patience.

At the center of the mandala, the solar plexus chakra with its bright yellow color captures the energy of the sun. Within us, the solar plexus—located in our belly—is our internal sun. This chakra is the seat of our confidence and self-worth. When we pay attention to this area of our body, we notice what energizes and truly excites us. When we say, ‘trust your gut,’ this is a call to listen to your unique calling.

My hope for you is that you are inspired by my posts to make time for yourself to create a mandala, perhaps with one or more of my stencils. As you draw and color, may this practice offer you a sacred moment to listen and connect with your true north. This world needs your gifts.
