Taurus New Moon: Ground Your Intentions Through Artful Ritual

This blog post for the New Moon in Taurus (April 27, 2025) is dedicated to you—to help you connect deeply with what makes you unique. May you realize your worth and value as you read these words and take time in your creative practice to create a mandala inspired by this earthy, magical lunation.

Of all the new moons throughout the year, the Taurus New Moon holds the most potent energy for manifestation. Taurus, a grounded earth sign ruled by Venus, is steady, deliberate, and deeply connected to the physical world. She’s fixed in her focus and dedicated to her path, often moving slowly—but always with intention.

When we think of manifesting, we often start with setting intentions. Naming what we desire is a great beginning, but it’s incomplete without believing in ourselves and in the dreams we’re calling in. Today’s mandala practice is designed to help you anchor into your inner worth and recognize the unique gifts you offer the world. When we value ourselves, we naturally attract people, experiences, and opportunities aligned with our authentic essence.

Mandala Practice – Step by Step:

Step 1: Put on some calming instrumental music. I’m listening to gentle harp music today.

Step 2: Take a deep, relaxing breath.

Step 3: Using a pencil, trace the overall design of the Four Gates Mandala, leaving the center open. Be sure to trace each of the surrounding lines to create a double border. The floral paper I used brings in the earthy, Venusian vibe of Taurus.

Step 4: Ink your traced lines with a black marker. Use a heavier tip to create a bold, grounded border.

Step 5: In the center space, draw the Seed of Life using a compass set to a 1” radius (creating 2” circles). I drew mine separately, outlined it in black, cut it out, and pasted it into the center. You can find detailed instructions on page 34 of The Mandala Guidebook, or watch the first part of this video.

Step 6: Trace a golden path. Use your gold pen to follow along the black lines. This path represents your journey—each stroke a step, each breath a reminder to go gently. As you trace, reflect on your experiences, what you’ve learned, and how far you’ve come. These golden threads symbolize the wisdom and value you carry.

Step 7: Highlight the center. Add gold around the Seed of Life to honor your core value and the light you bring into the world.

Step 8: Add a green glow. Use the green colored pencil to trace throughout the design. Green is Taurus’s color—associated with nature, growth, and the heart chakra. As you shade, bring your awareness to your breath and your heart. Let yourself soften. Reflect on your unique skills, gifts, and passions. These are the sacred seeds of intention you’re planting with this new moon.

Step 9: Once completed, sit back and take in your creation. Let its beauty remind you of your own. Living a life in alignment with your true nature radiates a powerful energy—one that magnetizes the right opportunities and people to you.

Crystal Companions – Energizing Your Mandala

To amplify the energy of your mandala and support your manifestation work, consider placing crystals around and within your design. Crystals hold specific energetic frequencies, and when used with intention, they can enhance focus, healing, and spiritual connection.

For my Taurus New Moon mandala, I incorporated the following stones:

  • Four rose quartz hearts at each of the Four Gates – representing unconditional love and heart-centered intention. These stones help open and soften the heart, allowing you to receive the abundance and beauty you’re calling in.
  • Six green aventurine mini wands flanking the Seed of Life – green aventurine is the stone of growth, prosperity, and new opportunities. These wands help channel energy into the sacred geometry of the Seed of Life, energizing your intentions and dreams.
  • One green aventurine dodecahedron placed in the center – this powerful platonic solid carries the vibration of divine harmony and connection to the universe. It sits at the heart of the mandala, activating your inner wisdom and helping your intentions align with the greater whole.
  • Additional rose quartz pieces surrounding the entire mandala – creating a soft, loving container to hold your process and protect your dreams as they take root.

As you place each stone, do so with intention. You may speak a prayer, affirmation, or simply breathe deeply and hold your vision in your heart. Crystals love ritual, and your mindful placement of each one is a powerful act of devotion to your creative path.

After completing your mandala, leave the crystals in place for as long as feels right—perhaps until the next full moon. Let them charge and hold the space for your manifestations to grow.

Queen of Pentacles – Tarot Wisdom

From The Light Seer’s Tarot, the Queen of Pentacles beautifully embodies Taurus energy. She is calm, grounded, and wise. With her eyes closed, she radiates inner knowing. She holds a pentacle—almost like a mandala—symbolizing her mastery of manifesting what she needs.

Be like the Queen. Pull out your journal and reflect:

  • What do I truly value about myself?
  • What gifts do I bring into the world?
  • Where in my life can I slow down and savor more?

The design for today’s mandala was intentionally simple. Sometimes, less is more. I wanted the patterned background to shine through, with the Seed of Life and golden paths as focal points—symbolizing your value and the journey you’re on.

May this mandala practice guide you in calling in your dreams and fully embracing your worth. 🌱
