Reflections by Moonlight: When the Numbers Drop and the Moon Rises, A Capricorn Full Moon Reflection

The Capricorn full moon is rising this week on Thursday, July 10, 2025, and although I have no Capricorn placements in my natal chart, I’ve been feeling it—especially one of the sign’s five big challenges (you can find the full list on this blog post).

Last Friday, I was looking at my website stats. Over the last ten years, they’ve had their ebbs and flows, but the last six months? The lowest they’ve ever been. Naturally, my heart sank.

My inner Cancer (she lives in the house of work in my chart) gently stepped in to remind me why I do this work in the first place. It was never about the numbers.

I create because I love it.

I love drawing mandalas and art journaling, weaving them with astrology and chakra wisdom.
I love writing, designing, and creating courses, books, and eBooks.
I love gathering in creative community—especially with people who enjoy getting artsy and chatty about the cosmos.

Today I had a fantastic chat with a WordPress expert about some plugins that could support a community site and a new course platform. I left that conversation buzzing with possibility.

Milo hangs out while I write in my journal. Cancer really helped me to shift from not feeling enough to realizing that I’m doing great.

And then that soft, wise inner Cancer voice nudged me again:
“Why don’t you make a list of all you’ve accomplished this year so far?”

So I did. And you know what? I’m proud of what I’ve created. Capricorn would be proud too. She may not show her emotions easily, but she loves a strong, intentional foundation—and that’s what I’ve been building.

So if you’ve been feeling the full moon tug this week—maybe the weight of expectations, maybe doubt creeping in—take a moment to look back. Count the things you’ve done, not the things you haven’t.

Then ask yourself: What do I love? And how can I keep showing up for that?

If you’re curious about Capricorn’s five challenges and how Cancer’s tender wisdom can help soften them, I wrote more about that on the blog, here. I’d love to hear if you resonate more with one or the other—or if you’re like me and feel a pull from both.

Here’s to doing more of what we love—under this beautiful full moon.

Reflections by Moonlight, part of the Traveling By Moonlight series, is where I get personal with astrology and share what’s showing up for me at the new and full moons. May these musings help you notice your own reflections by moonlight—where insight and wisdom await. Thank you for being part of this soulful and creative journey.

I really enjoyed this. It was scary reading about Capricorn because that is me to a T without the cancer

The opposite sign, in your case Cancer, can be difficult to relate to. My full moon posts where I focus on this polarity shows how the opposing sign can help bring balance.

My sun is in Leo and I have a hard time understanding Aquarius. Interesting, my moon and rising are in Virgo and I get along magnificently with Pisces.

I’m glad that you found the description accurate. Was the Cancer wisdom helpful in the full moon in Capricorn blog post?

I have a lot to say about the merits of Capricorn.

Where did you study Astrology? There are so many options. It is hard to decide.

Hi Natalie, I studied with Astro Butterfly. It was the hardest course I have ever taken, but so worth the effort. I’ve taken some hard computer programming classes for my Bachelors, so that is saying something. It is an in depth study that included videos, live sessions, quizzes, tests, and a mentor. I would spend at least 2 hours each week just taking the test. https://astrobutterfly.com/
